A CIVILIZATION TRILOGY

There is a particular silence that happens in Hindu families. A child asks a question — why do we do this, who is that on the shelf, what does the mantra mean — and the adult reaches for an answer and finds nothing there. I don't know. Ask your grandmother. And then one day the grandmother is gone, and the question has nowhere left to go.

That silence is not ignorance. It is the shape of something that was removed.

For a thousand years this civilization was invaded, converted, catalogued and taught to be embarrassed about itself. What survived came down to us in pieces — the festivals without the physics, the rituals without the reasoning, the words without the meanings they were built to carry. Most of us inherited the performance and lost the argument underneath it.

These three books are one long walk back.

The first, Hinduism, is the inventory. What this actually is, what it isn't, what was done to it, and what came through. The oldest text saying nobody knows how creation began. A language with no word for God. A constitution mistaken for a scripture.

The second, Hindu Decolonization, is the reckoning. They left the country; we did not leave them. This is the book about what stayed behind in us — the flinch, the apology, the adjusted accent, the pooja we don't mention at work. It names the mechanism and shows you how to put it down.

The third, Dharma, is the rebuilding. Not what to believe — how to live. Duties before rights. Wealth under śubh lābh. A society held together by an order rather than by a ruler. And then, having said all that, it tells you what to do on Tuesday morning.

Read in order they do one thing: they hand back an argument that was taken, so you can decide for yourself what to do with it.
